Packaging
-
How are my archwires and springs packaged?
Literally, anyway you want! Our default packaging is bulk quantities of lot specific parts in pouches or tubes, as applicable. However, our packaging department will gladly work with you on custom packaging!
-
What are my options for custom packaging?
Your brand is who you are and custom packaged products portray your image beautifully. Ultimate can walk you through the process and can begin with simple custom labels, or more extensive design such as custom designed outer packs or single archwire packages. Give us a call to get started!
-
Ultimate offers autoclavable single archwire packs. Do archwires have to be sterilized?
Cleanliness is always a concern in the dental office. While regulations do not call for archwires to be sterilized, some doctors prefer to take this step. Ultimate offers both autoclavable and non-autoclavable package options so that you can meet the specific needs of your doctors. When sterilization is not requested, our non-autoclavable single pack archwires may project a cleaner image than our multi-packed arches.

Can I sell your product in California? What is Proposition 65?
Absolutely, you can sell our products in California! ‘Prop 65’ was initially enacted in 1986 and requires warnings to be included on products containing chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. Full details regarding the Act may be found at the following site: http://www.oehha.ca.gov/prop65.html. Ultimate Wireforms provides our customers with details of our responsibility to our customers in light of the regulation.

Can I sell your product in Europe and Canada?
As you may know, the European Union requires a CE mark on most products traveling within the EU. TUV Rheinland of North America, our certified body and also Notified Body, has authorized approval of our compliance to the Medical Device Directive (MDD), thus allowing us to label our orthodontic products with the CE mark. So, too, our products must be accompanied by a Declaration of Conformity. It is your responsibility to meet the regulations in order to ship product into the European Union. More information is available at the Europa site: http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/newapproach/index_en.htm.
Canada requires the company importing medical devices to register and conform to a number of regulations. It is your responsibility to meet these regulations in order to ship product to Canada. More information may be found at the following site: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/md-im/index-eng.php.
Our Regulatory Manager is ready to answer any questions you may have in this area. -

-
Black-Ti® wire is awesome; no chipping or flaking! What is the coating?

-
What is the difference between Ultra Therm® Plus and Ultra Therm?
Different forces are needed at different stages of treatment. Ultimate’s engineers have developed materials to meet these needs. Product offering information may be found in the Wire section of the site, while wire forces are located in the Force Charts section. Specifically, while both Ultra Therm Plus and Ultra Therm are martensitic (heat-activated/thermal) wires, our Ultra Therm Plus wire provides moderate force with Af of 65-75°F, while Ultra Therm wire provides light force with Af of 80-90°F.
-
Do you offer a wire for nickel-sensitive patients?
Absolutely! Our ßIII-CNA® wire is nickel-free and offers great formability for placement of loops and bends. We offer preformed arches, specialized arches, and lengths.
-
What is a 3-Point Bend Force Chart? What does it tell me?
ISO Standard 15841 Dentistry -- Wires for use in orthodontics, provides information and the methods for testing wires to be used in orthodontic appliances. The 3-point bend test technique and resulting graph are explained on the Force Charts page of this site. Orthodontic springs are similarly tested, but there is not an associated ISO Standard for springs at this time. Force Charts of our wire and spring products may be found following the Force Charts link.
